Yuval Spiegler
Doctoral Candidate · Organizational Behavior · Harvard Business School
Hi! I'm Yuval, a doctoral candidate in Organizational Behavior at Harvard Business School.
I study workforce formation—how organizational workforces take shape and come to differ across firms. My research asks: what makes certain workers more attractive to organizations for hiring and promotions, what makes certain organizations attractive to some workers but not others, and how social, spatial, and institutional contexts shape these evaluations and choices. I also examine how these demand- and supply-side processes can co-create, or destabilize, market-level patterns of inequality.
Methodologically, I use large-scale administrative and scraped data, experiments, and computational simulations to connect individual and organizational decisions to systemic outcomes.
Prior to attending Harvard, I finished my MA in Sociology from Tel Aviv University (with Alexandra Kalev), a BA in Humanities from Bar-Ilan University, and have worked as a software developer. I am a veteran, a father of two awesome goblins, and a proud nerd :)
I am currently on the academic job market.
